New Measures for Regulating Pesticide Export Management - Consultation on the Regulations for Registration of Pesticides for Overseas Use Only

As a key input for agricultural production, the quality, safety and trade regulation of pesticides are not only related to the development of the agricultural industry, but also involve the ecological environment and public health. To further strengthen the management of pesticide exports and promote the high-quality development of the industry, on November 3, 2025, the Crop Production Management Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs officially issued the "Letter on Soliciting Opinions on the Regulations for the Registration of Pesticides for Overseas Use Only" in accordance with the relevant requirements of the "Pesticide Administration Regulations" and the "Measures for the Administration of Pesticide Registration", and publicly solicited opinions from the society. This measure marks that the registration management of pesticides for overseas use only in China will enter a more systematic and standardized new stage, providing clear guidance for the compliant development of pesticide export trade.

Strengthening Seedling Pest and Disease Control to Lay a Solid Foundation for Winter Rape Harvest

Since the middle and late September this year, the combined impact of the "West China Autumn Rain" and autumn floods has led to persistently high soil moisture in the main winter rape - producing areas such as Southwest China and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. This has created favorable conditions for the occurrence and spread of various pests and diseases, including seedling blight (root rot), damping - off disease, and cabbage leaf beetle. The seedling stage is a crucial foundation - laying period for the growth and development of winter rape, and the effectiveness of pest and disease control directly affects the subsequent growth, yield, and quality of the crop. To accurately respond to the current pest and disease control situation and consolidate the foundation for a good rape harvest, the National Agricultural Technology Extension and Service Center has specially formulated and issued the Technical Guidance on Pest and Disease Control for Autumn - sown Winter Rape Seedlings in 2025, providing scientific control guidance for growers in the producing areas.

Scientific and Technological Innovation Leads a New Chapter in Agricultural Resistance Management

Since the promotion of genetically modified (GM) crops in the United States in 1996, the global agricultural production landscape has undergone a profound transformation. Insect-resistant and herbicide-tolerant GM corn, soybeans, canola, and cotton have rapidly spread across North and South America, significantly boosting crop yields and production efficiency. This has not only reduced pesticide use but also lowered production costs and alleviated environmental pressure.
